How to Purchase a Kitten — Our 5-Step Process
Purchasing an exotic hybrid cat is one of the most significant decisions a cat lover can make. We have spent over 12 years refining our placement process to ensure every kitten goes to a prepared, committed home — and every buyer receives exactly the animal and experience they envisioned. This guide walks you through each step of our purchase process, from initial contact through your kitten's arrival home.
Our 5-Step Placement Process
Step 1 — Initial Inquiry & Consultation (Week 1)
Begin by submitting a detailed inquiry through our contact form or by email. Include: your location, the breed/generation you are interested in, your home environment, any other pets, and your experience with cats. Within 48 hours, one of our senior team members will respond with a personal reply — not a form email.
Our first conversation is a two-way interview: we want to understand your lifestyle and goals; you should use this time to ask every question you have. We believe an informed buyer is a happy buyer. There is no pressure to commit to anything in this stage — it is purely exploratory. Phone and video calls are available for buyers who prefer a real-time conversation.
We will discuss: breed options suited to your lifestyle, legal requirements for your state/country, housing and diet requirements, what you should prepare before your kitten arrives, and realistic expectations for your chosen generation.
Step 2 — Application & Approval (Week 1–2)
Approved inquiries receive our Buyer Application. This one-page form covers: your address and housing type, local legality confirmation, veterinary reference (or willingness to find an exotic-friendly vet before placement), household members, and your experience with cats. We do not require applicants to have prior exotic cat experience — we require that they are honest about their experience level so we can match them with the appropriate generation and provide appropriate preparation support.
For F1, HP F1, and wild species (Servals, Caracals, Pumas, Lynx), we also require confirmation of legal permits before placement. We assist all buyers with the permit application process and will not rush any placement that depends on pending permits.
Approval is typically communicated within 3–5 business days of application receipt.
Step 3 — Deposit & Placement (After Approval)
Approved buyers are presented with available kittens or upcoming litter options. A fully refundable deposit secures your placement. Deposit amounts by breed/generation:
| Breed / Generation | Deposit Amount | Refund Policy |
|---|---|---|
| HP F1 Savannah | $5,000 | Fully refundable if no kitten is suitable within 18 months |
| F1 Savannah | $3,500 | Fully refundable if no kitten is suitable within 12 months |
| Silver F1 Savannah | $4,000 | Fully refundable if no kitten is suitable within 18 months |
| F2 / Silver F2 Savannah | $1,500–$2,000 | Fully refundable if no kitten is suitable within 12 months |
| Serval / Caracal / Lynx species | $3,000–$5,000 | Fully refundable if no kitten is suitable within 18 months |
| Puma | $5,000 | Fully refundable with documentation of permit approval |
Deposits are transferred via bank wire or cryptocurrency. The deposit is applied to the total purchase price. If you change your mind at any point before the purchase agreement is signed, the deposit is refunded in full — no questions asked.
Step 4 — Kitten Development & Updates (8–16 Weeks)
Once your deposit is placed and a kitten (or upcoming litter) is designated for you, we become your partners in preparation. You will receive:
- Weekly photo and video updates of your kitten's development
- Socialisation milestone reports (first human contact, first play session, first raw feeding, etc.)
- A personalised preparation checklist tailored to your specific home environment
- Diet and feeding protocol for the first 30 days at home
- Recommended veterinary protocols document for your vet
- Legal permit guidance where required
- Access to our private buyer community for questions and support
Kittens are available for placement from 12–14 weeks of age — not before. Early placement does not benefit the kitten; a well-socialised 12-week kitten is fundamentally more confident and adaptable than a 6–8 week kitten. We do not accommodate early placement requests regardless of buyer circumstances.
Step 5 — Final Payment, Health Certificate & Transport
Final payment is due two weeks before transport. At placement, your kitten arrives with:
- TICA registration papers (in your name)
- 3-generation pedigree certificate
- Official health certificate from our licensed veterinarian (required for transport)
- Vaccination record (killed-virus FVRCP, rabies appropriate to age)
- Microchip certificate (ISO 15-digit chip)
- 2-year genetic health guarantee (see terms)
- Printed care guide
- Familiar-scented item from their birth family for transition comfort
Transport options: Ground delivery (personal delivery in a temperature-controlled vehicle to US buyers within 1,200 miles), nanny service (a human companion accompanies the kitten on a commercial flight), or buyer pickup at our facility. We do not ship kittens as cargo — all kittens travel in-cabin or by personal delivery.
For international buyers (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UK, EU): we prepare all CITES documentation, health certificates for import, and coordinate with the receiving country's veterinary authority. International delivery is available for all species and generations we offer.

Frequently Asked Questions — Purchase Process
How long does the entire purchase process take?
From initial inquiry to kitten placement typically takes 4–18 months depending on the breed and generation. F2 and F3 Savannahs often have shorter wait times (4–8 months). HP F1 and white/rare colour variants often require 12–18 months on the waitlist. We prioritise matching you with the right kitten over rushing the process.
Is the deposit refundable?
Yes — deposits are fully refundable if no suitable kitten becomes available within the timeframe specified in your placement agreement (typically 12–18 months depending on breed). If you change your mind before the purchase agreement is executed, the deposit is returned in full. After the purchase agreement is signed on a specific kitten, the deposit becomes non-refundable (though the purchase may be transferred to another buyer on our waiting list at your request).
Do you ship kittens as cargo?
No. We never ship kittens as unaccompanied cargo. All kittens travel either via personal ground delivery, in-cabin accompanied by a human nanny, or via buyer pickup at our facility. We cover the costs of nanny service for buyers within the continental US. International transport is arranged with specialist exotic animal transport services ensuring the kitten travels with a human companion throughout.
Can I visit your cattery before purchasing?
Yes, cattery visits are available by appointment for approved buyers who have completed the application stage. We welcome prospective buyers to meet our breeding animals, see our facilities, and connect with kittens from an ongoing or recent litter. Visits are conducted during business hours by appointment only — unannounced visits cannot be accommodated for the safety of our animals. Contact us to schedule.
Do you offer payment plans?
We offer payment plans for purchases over $10,000. Typically: 25% deposit at approval, 25% at 8 weeks of kitten's age, 50% balance at placement. Payment plans are interest-free and formalised in the purchase agreement. Contact us to discuss options for your specific purchase.
