Savannah Cat Import Laws in the UAE
The UAE has a federal regulatory framework for importing hybrid cat breeds. All Emirates follow these federal rules.
UAE Federal Requirements — Summary
- Permitted generations: F5 and later generations are importable under standard domestic pet regulations. Earlier generations may face additional restrictions or prohibitions.
- MOCCAE import permit: A permit from the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment is mandatory before travel. Elite Hybrid Cats provides all supporting documentation for your application.
- CITES export permit: Required from the US side for F1–F4 generations. We obtain this on your behalf. Processing takes 4–12 weeks.
- Microchip: Required. All our kittens are microchipped before travel.
- Rabies vaccination: Required at 12 weeks, followed by a 3-week pre-travel waiting period.
- International Health Certificate: USDA-endorsed certificate required. We arrange this through our accredited veterinarian.
- Maximum imports: Standard regulations allow up to 2 pets per individual per year (up to 5 with an agent arrangement).
